Ready to take that next step and earn your High School Equivalency? Earning your high school equivalency allows you to demonstrate proficiency of academic skills expected by employers and post-secondary institutions. Upon completion of the HiSET (formerly the GED), students are awarded a Maine High School Equivalency diploma. All testing and preparation classes are free to Maine residents. Maine College Transitions

College Prep Algebra I –

This basic math course gives students the math skills foundations for career or college readiness. Topics covered include ratio, proportion and percent, linear equations, some beginning skills in algebra and geometry.

College Prep Algebra II –

This course builds on previous math skills continuing with Inequalities, polynomials, rational and radical expressions and the quadratic equation.

College Prep Reading and Writing Improvement –

This basic reading and writing course will help refresh and build critical thinking, reading and writing skills for personal and professional use. Students will learn skimming and scanning texts, recognizing major ideas and themes in texts, responding to short passages and effectively use reading and writing as a learning tool for both college and career.

Becoming a Master Student –

This course gives students the skills they need to successfully manage a college schedule. Skills include time management, understanding learning styles, notetaking, test taking strategies, critical reading and writing skills.
